This is the wide angle view of a DC-7B cockpit from the engineer’s seat.

This is a restored EAL DC-7B with its original Eastern Airlines markings. The aircraft was first delivered to Eastern Airlines in 1958. This plane currently resides at Opalocka airport in Miami, Florida, and has been approved by the FAA to resume passenger service for “historical flights” by The Historical Flight Foundation. This plane is unique in that this aircraft represents the only U.S. based, four engine, passenger prop-liner in operation today.

Please see my other images of this marvelous aircraft:

(HDR: Photomatix, 3-exposure autobracketed on a Canon EOS 5D using a Tamron 11-18 lens, tripod-mount)

I’m a Miami, Florida-based photographer. I and my camera try to get out as often as possible. These images are the result. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you like my images enough to buy them, please know that the income goes back into the art. Thanks for visiting!

awesome shot mate… the cockpit details. could i suggest somthing thoe. I notice the windows are a bit blown out (very common with hdr) to fix this i drop one of the original bracketed images over the top and invert it, then paint the detail back in.

  • Thanks, Matt. Actually, I specifically went for this look. I wanted to focus attention entirely on the interior! I have about 20 versions of this shot.. I’ll post another later where the exterior view is perfect, but very distracting.
