This is the view out of one of the windows in the Cape Florida lighthouse on the island of Key Biscayne. This historic light, built in 1855, still stands today after a complete renovation in the 1990’s, and is operating as a marine navigational aid as well.
This picture was captured using a Canon 5D, and is processed from three exposures using Photomatix Pro and Aperture.
The light is within Bill Baggs State Park, and tours of the lighthouse are given daily.
There is a fascinating history behind this lighthouse. For details see Wikipedia. This lighthouse is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
