From a passenger window of a 1958 Eastern Airlines DC-7B, past the massive turbo compound radial engines, sits a DC-3 and a DC-4 from the 1940’s. If you zoom in to the shot, you can see the date on the window glass of 6-Aug-61 (apparently replaced for maintenance).
This amazing scene was taken at Opalocka Airport in 2010, using a Canon 5D with a Tamron 28-300 VC lens. Three shots were taken, and they were tonemapped in Photomatix, then the scene was converted to a Black and White image using Aperture.
The Plane from which the picture was shot is owned by the Historical Flight Foundation. This aircraft is a flying museum, the last remaining one of it’s kind certified for passenger flight.
