This is a close-up of the bridge lift gears on a 1920’s old-style lift bridge in Miami Springs, Florida. Located on Curtiss Parkway between Hialeah and Miami springs, this bridge crosses the Miami River canal that leads all the way from Lake Okeechobee to Biscayne bay in downtown Miami. This historic bridge is now fixed in place, but serves as an important landmark to the city of Miami Springs.

HDR 3-exposure processed in Photomatix and Aperture. Taken on a Canon 5D.
