At an abandoned Nike missile facility in western Miami-Dade county, graffiti covers the halls, making a twisted maze through debris and tiny rooms. Local kids call this place the asylum, an artifact of urban myth… they say this was secretly used as a prison for the insane after it closed as a missile facility in the 60’s. Outside the buildings, nature is slowly reclaiming this land at the edge of the Everglades.

(HDR, tripod, Photomatix, Aperture, 3-exposure)

This Florida location is on Krome Avenue south of Tamiami Trail in Miami.
