Urban experiment on a grand scale…

From the imagination of architect Paolo Soleri, Arcosanti rises from the Arizona desert north of Phoenix. The pictured massive concrete vaults are a central feature of the experimental Arcosanti complex. Soleri’s known for developing Arcology, an architectural concept of building hyperstructures that minimize human impact and are self-sufficient and sustainable.
