Folk Singer by njordphoto

Available to buy on…

Friend and local folk musician George Genauracos of the Yankee Roses at the Florida EastCoast Railroad tracks, Miami, Florida, USA. We shot in several locations to explore ideas for a future album cover, and I captured this of him singing next to an abandoned concrete silo on the north end of downtown Miami. Went a bit heavy on the HDR for this one to create that false “halo” effect around the singer.

What do you think?

Canon 5DmkII, canon 40mm f2.8, photomatix from 3 exposures, B&W in Aperture.

I’m a Miami, Florida-based photographer. I and my camera try to get out as often as possible. These images are the result. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you like my images enough to buy them, please know that the income goes back into the art. Thanks for visiting!

I love this – it is beautiful. it is currently in the B&W portrait challenge. if you compare it with the other entries you will see it definitely has a sepia tone to it. Since I am having a sepia portrait challenge coming up and accepting entries now, I would request you enter it there and I will remove it from the B&W challenge. Jane, co-host #1Favorites

  • Done! I hope it has enough sepia … It looks more black and white compared to the entries there. FYI- I matched the tone of a black and white film that I use in my Konica 35mm camera by Ilford called “XP-2”.
