I lived a mere 4 hours’ drive from NYC when this happened. That afternoon we could see the smoke. It was such a shock for most people, but for those of us who are realistic, it was part of Possibility. It still makes me wince a little bit to see images of Ground Zero or the NYC skyline without the Towers. As a New Yorker myself, it is especially heart-wrenching.
