Artist's Description

Named for its color and, it is said, the resemblance of its petal to a woman’s sunbonnet. The Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas, adopted as the official state flower by the Texas Legislature in 1901. These Bluebonnets are from the Hill Country of Texas just outside of Johnson City Texas. The Hometown of Lyndon Baines Johnson the 36th President of the United States (1963–1969). Bluebonnets bloom in the early springtime, late March, April and early May.
