Anatomically correct which is what the horsey set want and very moving. Good work
Nina SMART replied
Thankyou. All that time, money and effort spent riding, training and competing horses when I was younger hopefully allows me to portray horses the way “horsey” people know horses.

Beautiful use of pastel.

Wonderful work Nina! Love the looseness and delicate rendering of this one. Is there a watercolour wash underneath?
Nina SMART replied
Thankyou Helen, yes the watercolour wash under the pastel was my sketch if you like. In order to keep the drawing fresh I didn’t use pencil to to render the basics just the watercolour to map out the basic form.
