Hippopot-a-mouse
This watercolour illustration is the front cover of an early reader book. I love this hippo, I needed to show only a hint of him so I made him so big that the he sort of bleeds off the page.

Out of curiosity did you use ink and pen for the black lines, or a rigger brush and paint? Whatever … it looks great.

Thanks. I used a conte pencil after the watercolour had enough time to dry out completely.
