Inspired by my dreams, another self portrait…

I woke up at 7:30am and was compelled to draw this. I didn’t realize it was after 9:00am when I stopped drawing until my sister called me on the phone…..

…Since as long as I can remember, I often dream about people with no faces. Sometimes It scares me, sometimes it does not…

“Humans recognize one another by their faces. We also receive information about a person’s personality, emotions, age, and even their health from the face. Faces tell us whether an individual is friendly or hostile, someone who might be helpful or someone who might be dangerous. The faceless person might represent the dreamer. The dreamer may have “lost face” by being humiliated or shamed. Or the subconscious might be expressing feelings of losing one’s identity."

Media Used: pastels, charcoal on mi-teintes paper 12 × 16
