Life’s Nectar

(please view large)

Whilst perusing my back yard, I stumbled across a bee barely clinging to life and ready to be devoured by a colony of marauding ants. I decided to pick up the near lifeless creature and place it on a small flower. To my surprise, she began to feed on the pollen and I decided to pounce on the opportunity to capture this event. More so to my surprise was the length of her proboscis and how it functions. This is what I saw through my lens.

Spot on Johny! How is the length of that proboscis! I am sure I have never seen the like on a bee. Wonderful detail, colour and a cool read. Well done.

  • It’s a real beauty Davo, could hardly believe my luck when this little critter started to slide that proboscis across the top of the flower! But best of all, I got the shot that I’m happy with …. thanks mate, appreciate your comment!!
