A Eastern Meadowlark in his adult breeding colors. Declining drastically throughout most of range, probably because of habitat loss.In spring, the male will flaunt his colors and sing from the top of a fence post to let others know it is his territory and warns other males to stay away from the females in the area. Their territorial size ranges from 3-15 acres. This little guy was signing his heart out. Now that I know they are there, I will return to see if I can get better photo’s of them. Captured at the Pinelands Reserve in Nokomis ,Florida.
