I am an artist from Fallbrook, CA.

I’ve lived in a barn, spent a year as an exchange student (in Germany), and in the last few years have embarked on the scariest journey of all— motherhood. I have taught several classes in the arts— writing, drama, drawing, etc.

My current passion is smearing wet pastel sticks around on canvas, and I enjoy experimenting with mixed media. When I get the time, I love to paint with acrylic on canvas in an impressionist style.

I like to think of myself as a writer with a painting problem…click here to see a list of my articles published on Empty Easel.

Where is the Craft?

Something for me to work on this year: taking charge of my craft. / Craft is a funny word. I always laugh when actors use it, although I know they take their “craft” seriously. If you’re “crafty,” that’s not considered a compliment. And when it comes to “arts and crafts,” well, craft might be synonymous with “crap,” depending on your …
