Pomegranate Bushes (pastel) by Niki Hilsabeck

Pomegranate Bushes (pastel) by

9 × 12 chalk pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes paper

Plein air image of our largest pomegranate bushes, painted in a messy style to honor their inherent craziness

The first pomegranates I’ve ever eaten came from these bushes, so I thought I would honor them with a painting.

I really like this one! Love the lacyness of this.

  • Thanks Bunny, lacyness sounds so much prettier than my term (messiness!)

Great mix of purple/yellow complementary colours. The ‘messy’ style really works.

  • Thanks Lynda, your comments always cheer me up!
