Silence

Remember when you said to me;
“I can’t go and see her and be with you,
because I”ll end up cheating?”
It made a million things spin
in the confines of my mind
although the clock only passed
an everlasting second
I shook uncontrollably as the tears began
I wanted to disappear, to turn invisible
to the cruel world before my eyes
You started talking again;
“I won’t go see her even though
I still care, you matter more.”
I stayed silent, nothing to say
My tears bursting forth once again
I can’t believe that you
actually picked me
