Edinburgh Castle from Jacob’s Ladder, on Regent Road – en route to the ‘East End’ of Princes Street in Edinburgh.

I thought the sky ‘made’ the shot and was blessed to have thought to bring my Sony. The lens was just the Sigma 18-200 and the metering was ‘average’. It was taken hand-held, of course.

That’s been four days in a row that Edinburgh’s been nice, weather-wise!

Currently, I’m using a Sony Alpha 580 (donated to me by Sony) and I have a selection of lenses from Konica Minolta, Minolta or Sigma.

I’ve used Panasonic stuff occasionally previously but if it’s not with the Sony, it’s with a Nikon these days.

Lovely shot Nik, great silhouette there. And imagine us having 4 nice days in a row eh!

  • Made all the more-astonishing by my wife having a week’s holiday. Glad you like the shot, Steve.
