Day after day this monster grips it’s
iron claws around my heart and my soul
and squeezes the life out,
devouring the remains.
Day after day I must go on,
living with a bounded heart,
always belonging to that beast’s dangerous appetite.
How I pray for my being to be rescued,
but the words get choked by the chaos.
The exhaustion of such weighs my spirit
down like lead, chained to the very
ground I walk upon.
