High Pasture Farmhouse Reflected by

As the cows move to the high pastures in the summer, so do the Austrian farmers who live in homes ranging from little more than sheds to quite grand homes., from where they can milk their cows on a daily basis. This one looked quite cosy and it has views to die for :-)

Taken on a walk from the top of the Hahnenkamm cable car to the Pengelsteinsee and mountain restaurant. The walk is about an 8 mile round trip with an elevation change of 1500 feet. At the end of that we had the option to return to our hotel in the cable car, but some idiot (who will remain nameless, but has the initials NJ) suggested walking down the famous Hahnenkamm ski run. It is so steep in places it is hard to keep your feet, halfway down we took a wrong turning which took our total distance for the day to 12 miles and seven hours of walking! If the hotel had been 100 yards further away I think we would have just slept on the street for the night LOL.
