This was my first trip to the drags in 20yrs so it was a great specticle.
Flames roar from Nitro Methanol as this 500CI 7000HP machine leaps off the start in round one of a qualifying session.
The fastest time for the night was 4.59 seconds with a top speed of 333MPH (536KMH) over a quarter mile (402m).
Canon 40D with f4 70-200 USM IS L lens, f4,1/800,ISO 400,AWB,focal length 200mm, shot in RAW and processed 16bit PNG file

    Hey Nigel, after commenting on one of my images here on RB (y’know, the blurry one :-) This image is nice and sharp.

  • Thank you Paul. Fast motion images require a fast shutter speed at least 1/800 if the level of light allows. For stationary images pic your fstop carefully and your focal point before you compose the shot.
