Puzzle Wood.
Nikon D60 with Sigma 10-20 Zoom.

This picture was taken in Puzzle Wood, which is an old shallow iron mine. It dates back to before Roman times, some 2,700 years. The whole wood has an eerie and unusual feel because of the way the rock has been mined and the way plants and trees have subsequently grown.
It is said that J.R. Tolkien, who visited here, used it as the basis for ‘Middle Earth’ in The Lord of the Rings.

My main interests are landscape, wildlife and sports events.
I use a Nikon D40X, a Nikon D60 and a Nikon D3100.
The lenses are either Nikkor or Sigma or a Tamron 60mm Macro. I also have a small collection of vintage cameras.
I hope you enjoy my photography and keep coming back for more, as I am constantly working to increase my portfolio.

Interesting and so fresh looking. As always my friend, great shot!

  • Thank you very much, these paths went round the whole place. One person who owned it bought it for his children to play in and created them all over the forest.
