Welcome to the start of the silly season! Christmas cards and decorations are already in the stores and I’m think you’ll hear the Mariah Carey Christmas Album playing at your nearest shopping center in the coming weeks.

For me at the moment it is defiantly the silly season in regards to the exhibition and art scene, with Sketch City Artist Art Auction, Leeloo’s Once Upon at aMBUSH Gallery, Smalls Show at Retrospect Galleries, No Vacancy Gallery Christmas Art Market, Generating Art – Tattersall Family Exhibition and many more exhibitions and events all of which you can read about below.

Baby Tree Projects – Art Auction, Live Painting and More!

Last Sunday I was doing a live painting at Art Jam, an event that was raising funds for the Baby Tree Projects. There was also traditional Cambodian food, dancing, drumming, live music, an art auction and much more. It was a fun afternoon and I got to meet some wonderful people! Sketch City Artist Art Auction:

Everyone loves an auction, we’ll I know I do. I’ll be putting some works into the Sketch City Artist Art Auction which is to raise funds for Sketch City and also help feed the struggling artists that make it all happen, whilst allowing the general public to own a piece to call their very own and to hang on their wall with pride.

Leeloo – Once Upon Exhibition:

To celebrate Leeloo’s 2nd birthday and their support for Australian artists Ali J, Amy Borrell, Anna Laura Blandford, Bec Winnel, Bel Johnstone, Ben Zen, Caitlin Shearer, Catherine Campbell, Chrissy Lau, Courtney Brims, Dawn Tan, Elisa Mazzone, Ellara Woodlock, Emma Kidd, Burntfeather, Jaxie Yael, Enyáj, Jessica Hyde, Jessica Klingelfuss, Jordan Clarke, Kaitlin Beckett, Kareem Rizk, Kareena Zerefos, Laura McKellar, Lucy Hope, Madelynn Holmes, Manuela Strano, Meeri Anneli, Melody Caramins, Natalie Perkins, Nicole Tattersall(Me), Nina Mary, Rebecca Murphy, Renee Anne, Sarah Barron, Sarah McNeil, Tabitha Patterson, TheRipeCollective are all busy currently creating works for Once Upon.

Each artist has been allocated their own fairy tale to interpret into four original and new artworks to exhibit. I’ve been given ‘The Golden Goose’ not to be mistaken for ‘The Goose That Layed The Golden Egg’, which has been a bit of fun and I’m still busily working on the final pieces. Artworks will be available for sale, and from Friday to Sunday there will be a Leeloo “pop-up store” for the public to have a hands-on look at some of their gorgeous online goodies.

Retrospect Galleries – Smalls Show Exhibition:

I’ve been invited to be apart of the Smalls Show at Retrospect Galleries in Byron Bay late November. I know of two other artists exhibiting Troy Archer and Kareena Zerefos though at the moment I’ve no idea who the other 27 are, it’s a bit of a surprise.

For this show each artist has been asked to create 9 pieces that are 10” x 10” and are each relating to each other. My works will be featuring my stencil animals and their link to the environment, inspired by some nature documentaries I’ve been watching of late.
