Dilemma..
Just venting out my thoughts here in a hope that some of you might have the solution or answers I need to push me any further.
I’m working on a website for NickWho at the moment, this can be viewed at NickWho.tk – my thing at the moment is, because its a .tk, people cant follow through to purchase so it brought to my attention the need to register a .com.au if I wish to take this any further or have any reasonable intention of following a dream, or making a living, of selling my beloved designs to yourselves.
Its finding out details about ABN’s, registering Business Names and all that jazz which is SO confusing, not to mention even the thought itself of whether its going to mess up my tax or anything for this year, or the following, if a business is registered under my name.
Some may have opinions, but I guess I really need answers, real proper law abiding answers.
Anyways, I guess have a look at the site and tell me what you think :)

Mate it’s a lot of paperwork, but essentially your problem is easy fixed:
1) Don’t stress about your Tax for now, that’s taken care of at Tax Time on by your Tax Agent or Accountant. Just keep good records of all your sales and any purchases you might make (e.g. shoebox of receipts).
2) Register a business name. Costs about $130 (http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/) if you’re in SA.
3) Register an ABN, it’s easy, just go to the ATO website and follow their instructions
4) Register your .com.au address.
Then you’re away…

P.S. I am no lawyer or accountant but I’ve been through this process several times with various people, and done it myself recently.
