My mother’s 80th birthday celebration. She has in her hands a photobook my niece made for her from photos of her life collected from all of us . She told us so many stories behind the photos that we didn’t know, and we all laughed so much. It was the best time!
I entered this (with some trepidation) in the camera club competition as the subject was ‘Humour’ – and it won a first place. The judge liked that it was blurry – said it looked like the photographer might have been drinking too much with the subjects, bringing us in to the image, rather than closing us out.
So my least technically good image shot with my least expensive equipment gets a first. Who knew!?
