Profile
Julian completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts in 1995, majoring in Painting, producing a final year folio strongly focused on the landscape around the Flinders Rangers after a week long field trip. After a brief stint in childrens’ book illustration Julian moved into graphic design, winning several awards during his tertiary studies of graphic design. In 2002 Julian established his own graphic design studio Newman Creative which is located in Ballarat and has a strong client base in many areas of Victoria including Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Horsham and Shepparton.
Julian’s images capture the landscape in its simplest form, breaking it down to an abstract form and colour. These images illuminate the warmth and beauty of the landscape which have inspired him during several trips to Central and Northern Australia.
