I want to dedicate this photo to all my family members in the USA

My Grandfather from the Mooney-side, and me as little girl getting the Turkey ready to eat.
I can’t remember this, but from my brother I know, that the family always got together at Nanny’s & Pappa’s to celebrate Thanksgiving. All 3 sons of my Grandfather came with thier famlies.
Here in Germany we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.
As we moved to Germany I missed a lot of traditionell american hollidays, but most of all Thanksgiving. When the family gathered, from whatever State they lived in, was just wonderful.
Thanksgiving will always stay in my memories, with all my family members in the USA

Darling photo!!! Wish you were here in Georgia. Stacey and I go to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving. You could tag along. It is a place that serves Southern food. If it is not too late, you should enter this in our current challenge. :D

Lovely memory, you can still celebrate thanksgiving, a little turky, some cranberry, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, a few people that you love and a heart filled with gratitude, simple.

  • Yes you are right, but the german side of the family has no feeling for it, it is a traditionel American holiday

I love old photos! I treasure my old black and white childhood memories. I also miss Thanksgiving turkey dinners we had in Canada, as well as the German traditions. Australia has Christmas in summer and no Thanksgiving. It’s been about 10 years since I had a good old traditional turkey dinner.

  • Danke Karin, auch das du interesse für meine arbeiten hast.
Hope you don’t mind me writing german, a little practice doesn’t hurt
    have a nice weekend Heidi
