Heart-Shaped Office

There was clarity once.
In the confines of my mind.
Of course,
It is gone now.
For you have left.
And behind you
Only a paper trail.
Of our feelings.
Once intricately balanced.
Everything filed.
From Affection to Zeal.
All strewn inside.
For me to gather.
One by one.
Countless days spent,
Cleaning this mess.
And simply forgetting.
My mind will clear up.
Life will go on.
Not without the difficulty.
Of staring at your empty seat.
Left forever inside me
And though,
One may be found
To fill your position
Your name.
Will always be painted
Next to mine.
On the door to my heart shaped office.

Writing it off seems to sometimes the better action of a creative mind.
The metaphor works it without an typo’s or paper cuts for me ;O)

  • Good point. I guess when its something so close to the heart, it is better to vent it through creativity rather than sleep it off.
