Reflections of youth

When I was much younger my grandmother would tell us stories of her youth. She would refer to them as her colorful years as compared to her then grey years of life. She was happy and healthy in her grey years; she just loved to reminisce about young friends, dances and the soda fountain where they congregated. This image represents the grey years of life in the wooded area and the colorful reminiscent years in the waters reflection. Hope you like it.

Fantastic selective colour. Beautiful detail on the monotone area while the rippled reflection is complemented by autumn colours. Gorgeous either way!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I also appreciate being featured. When I completed this piece it was difficult to title. It induced so many different thoughts and sentiments. I decided on “Reflection Of Ourselves” due to some couples having the need to change or stifle the growth of their partner to meet their own perceived needs, Hence, preventing the partner’s metamorphosis into what they could be. My wife and best friend Barb and I encourage each another’s growth – our color will never fade and be locked in the depths.
And if that’s too deep for you, Yea, I like the way it turned out.
