Loch Cluanie (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Cluanaidh) is a loch in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. It is a reservoir, contained behind the Cluanie dam, constructed by Mitchell Construction and completed in 1957 as part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board’s Glenmoriston project to generate hydroelectricity.

    Very nice comment dinghysailor1, I never looked at the photo in that way (with the mist in the background). That’s what I love about photography, everyone’s interpretation is different.

    I’m so sorry folks, I originally advertised this as Loch Duich but I’ve realised this was taken at Loch Cluanie just down the road. I feel a total Prat with a capital “P”. For some reason I thought I took it on the entry to Loch Duich before you hit Eilean Donan Castle……...obviously not……..DUH!!!!!!
