Ancient Tower raised in vain,
washed away by brimestone bane.
In Shinar did this tower stand,
Bricked upon the watchers land.
These giants were brutal, dancers with strife.
Tearing up man and seizing his wife.
Though now sleep the fallen, covered by mud,
drowned to death, by Noah’s flood.
soon waters abated, but many had died,
‘Let’s start again’ the remnants cried.
Thus Babel was chosen, to settle their Throng
And along came a city, before very long.
A structure was planned, to bear the kings name,
To quench his desire, for glory and fame.
The hunter commanded, as head overseer,
enouraged were men, by cruel whips of fear.
He forced the oppressed, to kilm the hot brick,
mixed mortar with blood, crimson and thick.
The Heavingly host became enraged,
‘Fiat that all Sumer be plagued!’
To ensure the Throne was out of reach,
Angels descended and jumbled our speech.
Tongues were twisted, tongues were bound,
The Omni language was confound.
Perplexed were people, their heads so spun,
That torching the tower seemed like fun.
Thus Nimrod’s plans were laid to waste,
when Confusion struck his name in haste.
Hence scattered did all Babel lie,
that fallen Tower from the sky.
