The Slickest he was wherever he went,
That Phantom Dapper Visitant.
Immaculately Clad in the Finest of wears,
those who he met, saw a man without Cares.
But they would be wrong to miss all his Strain,
for he was Distraught and Riddled with Pain.
The Reason for this, couldn’t be worse,
his lot was to Suffer, the Slave of a Curse.
In the Day he would Sleep, Confined to his Grave,
At Night he arose to find the Next Rave.
Thus was his Hex, Released just to Dance,
Due to his Lust for the Dark Games of Chance.

A Gamble was made and hence fairly Lost,
The Price of this wager, an immeasurable Cost.
The Bet was with one, Perennially Bound,
Dead but Existing, on Erebus Mound.
His Preferred Chosen Sport, a Hideous Race,
to see who would Gallop and win the First Place.
Why did he Gamble? he hadn’t the need,
to Stake down his Soul on a Stygian Steed.
To make matters worse, his Horse was inert,
Dug were it’s Bones, from out of the Dirt.
Forfeit was our Dapper, Dragged to the Gate,
In Limbo he Languished, That Rancorous State.

So Punished he was and Forever will be,
Swamped by the Shadows, Lost like at Sea.
Whenever he wakes, he must find a new Site,
from whence he will Live or atleast for the Night.
For while there is Raving, Music and Fun,
He continues to Dance, Estranged from the Sun.
Aurora arrives and lights up the Sky,
hence comes the time for our Dapper to Die.
But don’t be upset, for he’s on the Mend,
at Night he’ll arise to Frequent and Attend.
like many years past, before you were Born,
A New Place he’ll find and Boogy till Dawn.

I can hardly feel sorry for someone that gets to party all night. ;o) Nice piece…. love the horror mixed with a bit of humor. Nice development of your “dapper” fella too.
