Runes are cast in Days uncertain,
Back and forth the Pendulum Swings.
We forever search for answers,
Probing time for what She brings.

The Tower card implies Disaster,
Empress means you shall Create.
A timesless Book of unbound Pages,
Lay them down to View your Fate.

Vunjo, joy a state of Rapture,
The Torch suggests a time to shine.
Inverted swung beneath an Oak Tree,
Odin hung the Norse Divine.

Skryers tend to use the Crystals,
dauntless focus, second-sight.
Shapes are formed within their Glory,
Mundane objects Shine so Bright.

When confused consult a Mystic,
Brutal Nightmares, hence made clear.
line their palms with Silver coinage,
treat them well the Humble Seer.

I do apologize. The Hierophant is also the 5th card of the Tarot. I forget that not everyone reads the cards ;)

    Thankyou for reading,.

To be honest Papa, I wish my work was more varied, I tend to pick up poetic habits which I find quite difficult to break.

    Max I usually don’t like “diddle-de-dum” poetry
[You know the rhyming every second row neat 8 -7 syllable rhythm]
Yes I know I write them too … but only as fillers while my mind is conjuring up more difficult tasks and I try really hard not to let the rhyme force the line or the line force the rhyme either!
But then to read any poetry with such beautiful language as you use is a sheer pleasure!
    Thank you :o)

Oops, I thought I had commented on this already! Why did you remove your six-worders, the first two lines stand so well alone!

  • Max Gatrell

Max Gatrell in reply to Natella2020’s comment, 4 months ago

Wow I can’t believe you noticed that :) To be honest I originally started off with those Two ‘6 word things’ but I realized I had the potential to include them in a larger piece, hence this ensued.

    Thankyou for your attention.

This is a nicely written poem, and the six worders fit together nicely. I liked them alone also, they seemed to echo in the empty space. :o)

  • Max Gatrell

Max Gatrell in reply to Natella2020’s comment, 4 months ago

To be honest, it did sort of pain me when I removed those Two from my list, but I thought it was unecessary to have them aswell as this poem. But I did like them as single statements.

i’ve spent more time than I like to admit reading those sorts of books, but I love it, i’m fascinated by metaphysics and the occult, which cards do you have?
