Traveling along the Calder highway ,from Gragieburn ,through Sunbury ,I usually drive through the small Country roads ,eventually taking me to Lake Eppaloc, among other scenic landscapes Over the last ten years a once Beautiful Lake ,full of life , people, wildfowl ,fish,,, has been reduced to nothing more than just a place of small puddles of green water,an unfortunate Drought that’s griping Australia for too long. The dead trees ,stand there as the witness of Mankind’s management.

I can relate to the narrative for as long as I can remember Lake Eppaloc use to be a thriving recreational area for holiday makers/boaters/ fishermen etc..now days my father and I fish here..I have seen it drop to 1 % over summer..a few weeks ago a good rain put water in here but not enough to reopen the lake to boats etc..it still is a wonderful area with some birdlife and fishlife hanging on..heaps of yellow belly to be caught in the right spots which is a good sign..wonderful image. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I have similar experience like you Slsbells69 ,and I’m glad you can still enjoy ,what it can still offer , and I’m sure it would get better soon, because it’s one of my places that i visit on my regular trips to the bush ,where i really feel Alive .
