Years ago, I drew a number of images of my interpretation of what faeries and gnomes might look like. Later, when I was going through an intensive Art Nouveau kick brought on by the work of Alphonse Mucha, I decided to merge the two concepts for a series of designs. The idea was to illustrate faeries emerging out of various species of flower surrounded by an Art Nouveau background.
Since I was pleased with how well the Four Seasons and the Nouveau Barista came out after rendering them in Adobe Illustrator, I figured I’d go ahead and start working on the Flower series. “Daffodil” is the first one that I’ve finished.
