OK all…confused about the peom let me explain. It is about a guy who had been going out with this babe for a few years and wanted to pop the question. so he booked a holiday to the Canary Islands (west spain/Africa-ish). Befor ehe wnet he bought a fab engagement ring with a nice rock. To hide it he decided to take some food on holiday as they were going self catering. So…the night before the flew out he crept downstairs and carefully opened up the bottom of a cornflakes box… put the ring and box inside and glued it back up again and re-packed it. The bag goes missing in customs – high drama – then it is found again. They arrive at the appartments and the guy goes to find a quiet bay where he is intends to ask his wee honey to marry him. Whilst he is out his girlie unpacks all of the food bu tthe box holds fast. That night he sneaks it out…walks down the sea front to the abandonnned bay and asks her to marry him, she says yes. The story gets around and this guy’s sister is a world class poet and literary genius. She writes the poem based on the story and it becomes a reading at their wedding. All guests were as confused as you have all been. So consider yourself enlightened… and the rest has been the finest 4 years of my life.
