Looking Glass

Who am I?
Who are you?
Who do I see
when I look in the mirror?
Who do I think I am
from inside of my mind?

When i look at myself
I see something strange
who is that person
staring at my face?

When i look in the mirror
is not me I see,
but someone that everyone
sees except me.

In my mind I create
an image of me,
so very unclear
and far from the truth.

Am i who I think
and Imagine myself
or the way
that others conceive me and see?
I just am who i am,
and God knows what that is.

Gal you sound so down. I know there is probably nothing I can say to help you get some colour in your days, but be assured you are among friends here.

hey Tazzy thanks for the comments, Luckily these are old poems and don’t feel this down at the moment =). However Looking Glass doesn’t necesseraly has to be looked at negatively, It’s more about accepting who you are in all its mysterious facets.

i think we all reach a certain point in our lives where get feel as if we don’t know ourselves.

we are so many things…we are thoughts, we are actions, we are skin and bone and flesh yet spirit , soul and emotion too.

    Oh my.
    I enjoyed that very much.
    Wow.
    That is amazing.
When I read this, I didnt think of it as being a negative thing, I thought of it more as a way to like yourself the way you are.
    Awsome work !
