A fine looking woman

A fine looking woman, you know you are
You upgrade your men like you upgrade your car
Always a later model.

You made my day when you showed your face
and put me in a warm and fuzzy place.
Stay for a while.

We laughed ’till we cried, we ran on the beach
You fell in to my arms but remained out of reach.
Like a child.

The routine thoughts that fill my day,
create more thoughts and get carried away.
In the centre is you.

Did I leave my universe in your bed?
Did you own my dreams when I took my head
from your pillow?

All good things must surely end.
You said you wanted to be my friend.
It’s not enough.

The rain pours down and fills the street.
So how can my small tears compete
when angels cry?

History is full of absurd mistakes
I tried to slow down, I slammed on the brakes
Too late! I loved you

A fine looking woman
