The lighthouse on Alderney, in the Channel Islands, as seen across the lake that is a bird reserve on the tiny island.
It was built in 1910, and is only half a mile or so from where the Elizabethan Wreck lies on the sea bed – This is an important wreck from a historical point of view
Taken as the Sun was almost set

Great photo, brings back memories of many years ago visiting your lovely Island for the sole purpose of dismantling a scaffold erected at the top the Lighthouse. It was blowing a gale. The view from the top was excellent. regards Gordon

  • Nice one! It is often a little windy here ;-)
The Lighthouse has just been painted, I bet that was a fun job.
I am glad that it brings back some memories

Beautiful! Wonderful job on the lighting!

  • Thanks Anne. – to tell the truth, I accidentally changed the metering on the camera whilst I was in the dark in the bunker (this is from just outside the subterranean Nazi Bunker – you can see those photos here ) and this photo I thought was a write off. Thank goodness I shoot in RAW & was able to recover it ;-)
