Wanaka Willow

Wanaka Willow

One of many frozen Willow trees lining the edge of Lake Wanaka, waiting for the dawn’s first light to warm them for a new day. At first I was disappointed not being able to see the lake and the mountains due to the heavy fog on the water. That soon changed!

    G’day Neil,
There is a simple beauty in the stark isolation in this wintry scene.
The subject has its own winter beauty and has been well isolated in the landscape by your good composition.
The scene is well lit with its soft winter’s light and your exposure has brought that out very well.
The depth of field combined with your sharp focus has rendered very nice sharp detail and the almost pastel-like colours and tones work very well with the subtle contrast.
    Lovely work mate!
    God bless you and yours,
    Dennis
