I’ve always been artistic. I remember spending lots of recesses in grade school inside drawing animals; I don’t think there was ever a moment where I considered being anything other than an artist when I grew up!
I dabbled in many artistic mediums during my college years – drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery….. However, I’ve declared photography my medium of choice for its immediacy and manipulation potential. I’ve recently discovered the technique of using a flatbed scanner to capture the abstract patterns within fruit, vegetables, & flowers. I’m very excited as the subject possibilities are endless.
To me, creating art is the process of expressing my awe of the Creator God for the amazing world He has given us. I am fascinated at all the incredible detail in nature – I think God is the most brilliant abstract artist of all! The talent and artistic vision He has given me is such a blessing, and I’m honored to glorify Him with it. It’s what I can do in gratitude for the His gift of eternal life through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
