On the wings of a dove I fly,
Searching the sky and the stars,
On feathers softer than cloud,
In search of my love I away.
With the tide of the ocean I go seeking,
My love my only goal.
But all I see are footprints,
Remnants of what has been.
I cry to the heavens for help,
To the mirror in the sky.
To show the face of my love,
To encourage me on my journey.
My search starts to feel futile,
I need to find my love soon.
For every beat of the wings I ride on,
Is another bit of my heart breaking.
My pulse starts to quicken with excitement,
He’s nearby, I can feel it!
I set off again in search,
Towards the sunset gold.
And my dove found it’s goal,
He was on his way home from the war.
I laughed to myself “How silly am I!?
All I needed was a little patience…"
