A Shot from the top of Pew Tor, Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England

Pew Tor is on the western edge of Dartmoor, near Tavistock. It has easy access from the road from which it is a short but energetic walk to the summit. Pew Tor rises to a height of 320 metres, which is modest compared to other Dartmoor Tors, but makes up for it with the diversity of habitats and views. On a clear day, Plymouth sound and the Tamar Estuary can be seen.

Nice work, but talk of coincidence, it was only Sunday last (12th Sept) that I also shot something very similar to this after doing the sunrise at windy post, then walking to Pew Tor. (might even have used your tripod divets….lol)

Nice work Neil, great foreground interest and awesome sky

  • Thanks for the compliment Andy, and I’ve yet to catch sunrise/sunset at Windy post even though it is only a few hundred yards away. No problem on the mistake I’m so used to it now even my dear old mum spells it wrong sometimes :)

Sorry for the mistake Neal……always good to catch up with local photogaphers

  • Just been through your gallery Andy, and all I can say is – spetacular images one and all. Will definately have to get an ultra-wide angle lens now :( and try out Windy Post. Again – stunning shots (I can just feel my bank balance going into the red now) and nice to meet you also
