THE CIRCLES OF LIFE

Time slips by, through the fingers of life
The gathering of children or husband or wife

All small problems , like grains of sand , sifted and cast away
Only those things of substance are left , to keep you from harms way

We hide ourselves behind a shield of glass and wonder why it breaks
We throw our lives out , like the rolling of dice and wonder what it takes

Joy clouded by sorrow , sorrow overlooked by joy
Endless cycles of ups and downs as you trustingly fall for the ploy

Living on a faith that hinds behind dreams ,we climb mountains of realities trials
Crossing the sands of time without water, we purposely wander for miles

Starved of lifes pleasures , held back from what may have been
Not realizing our protector was purging our souls from sin

We step out on a dare and lose on a gamble
We decline lifes temptations , than seek them in scandle

Heaven and Hell continue the war from ancient times long ago
The Prince of the air and Lion of Judah struggle for your soul

One wants to keep it forever , one wants it sold
One has lived a holy life , one has grown cold

The weapon we have is written in words, forged on a tablet of stone
Like any weapon it is useless , untill it is learned and then known

Now the warriors of time come swiftly in dreams to tell me to hold on tight
They tell me they know us and watch us , hardly ever revealed to our sight

Except now and then , when the stars are aligned and The Ancient of Ages sees need
He sends down an angel to comfort my night and gives hope to an unfit seed
