A gallery owner told me once that I need to “specialize”. Apparently, in his experience, I would sell more if I focused with pinpoint precision on one subject or style.

WHAT TYPE OF LIFE WOULD THAT BE???

Here’s my specialty: things that fascinate me. Subjects, styles or inspirations which make me passionate. Indoors, outdoors, studiowork… even portraits cannot be formulaic or cookie-cutter. Just not acceptable. In fact, in the case of portraits, the clients’ individuality is as important as my own!

And about the gallery owner? For a couple years there, he sold one of my images almost every week, and I’m also passionate about paying the rent, so I “focused”- at least in what I sent him. But the market changed… and now, he’s out of business, in a different line of work entirely.

Meanwhile, my style stays fluid… always changing.
I live in an area that is legendary for its beauty, the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. When the opportunity to travel comes along, I am consumed with new inspiration.

I am rarely happy with anything but my latest work!
I’m here to learn, so your comments or even suggestions are quite welcome!
