Sitting by the window in the kitchen of her house
Wrapped in her blanket, a white silk blouse
Taken shots of whiskey, bourbon straight up
Shot after shot from a Styrofoam cup
Lighting a cigarette to accentuate the taste
Licking her lips leaving none to waste
Warmth fills her throat, then her chest
Tips the bottle once more to finish the rest
Hears a car doorSLAM just outside her house
Drops her blanket, tries to hurry, button her blouse
Not sure who would be there at such a time
“Must just be a friend of mine”.
Without a second thought she opens the door
Never thinking of what fate might have in store
A gentle breeze tussles her hair
Such a beautiful man, she can’t help but stare
For into his eyes she continued to look
His eyes scanning, reading her like a book
He once was her lover a long time ago
Feelings for her he was not able to show
Seeing her now, face to face
In her white silk blouse, her panties of lace
Excites his mind, body and soul
Getting her back is his goal
Beauty such as hers comes from deep within
Kissing her lips is where he will begin
A hand on her cheek and the middle of her back
He pulls her toward him cutting no slack
Her body responds, leans into his
Perfumed scent, erotic, the sweet scent of “Liz”
His lips leave hers, her neck they begin to taste
Big strong hands wrapped around her waist
“I am sorry its take so long for me to be honest about what I feel”
“These feelings I have had for so long are so deeply felt and real”..
She wakes up by the window in the kitchen of her house
Still wrapped in her blanket BUT no silk blouse!!!!!!!!!

Naylor, do you realize how wonderfully written this is? The thoughts and images that you bring to life through your words are so powerful. I felt every emotion she had and every touch of his. And when she awoke at the end … I had to wonder if it was all real and ask myself, did she savor the memory? You have way of creating moments that make ones heart skip a beat.
This is now a favorite!—Judi
