Dedicated to a dear friend, (You know who you are) that needs the magic of being a “Sugar Plum Faerie”, riding into the freedom and light of new days in childhood, away from those stolen from her in years gone by!
Faerie and hummingbird digitally painted in Photoshop and Twisted Brush, using two images as guides. I set up a graph to get size and perspective of the bird and little girl, used the bird and most of the child from one image as a reference, the eyes and mouth from an old Bessy Pease Gutman print in my personal collection.

How adorable!! She doesn’t even have to hang on tight or pay any attention whatsoever where she is going. Just going! Since that is a hummingbird, she is indeed so very, very small but doesn’t even seem to know it or to care. THAT is indeed a child’s perspective—bigger than the whole universe living in pure joy!!!!
