Many years have passed since this old grist mill has worked, churning away by the stream’s waters which once propelled the now broken and rotting wheel. The fact is the only thing found on record is the name the mill once ran under, which was Sahler’s Mill. There seem to be no historical document as of yet on the mill, yet the barn on the property has just been listed in the Historic Records of New York State. Perhaps in the near future rescue will come to this old mill as well. Photographed in Olive Bridge, New York, USA

What a treasure! You’d think a mill would be more rare and therefore readily preserved. Your composition in the red and green leaves is magnificent!

  • For some reason not many of the mills are documented here. Thanks so much!
