An old gatehouse sitting next to the lock tenders house along the old D & H Canal locks in High Falls, NY, USA.
In 1850 the canal company, which had recently acquired most of the village, formed the village into streets and lots. The five High Falls locks (20-16) were designated a national historic site in 1969.
In 1898 the canal was supplanted by the Ontario & Western Railroad.

Pamela, I think you can make anything look like it belongs on a postcard or greeting card. Did you throw that snow up on the roof for effect? LOL I didn’t really think so!

  • I was standing there throwing snowballs at the squirrels! LOL!

Great lighting and framing, Looks lost and forlorn with the snow piled up in front of it.

  • Everything around here looks like that right now!
