Jezebel Nymph by

The Jezebel Nymph, Mynes geoffroyi, is an Australian rainforest butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. The species is contrasting in its markings with its upper wings being white with wide black border on the outer edge of forewing, and narrow black border on outer edge of hindwings. The underwing markings are black with yellow, red and white markings.
In flight the alternative white of the upperwing and predominate black markings of the underwing act similar to ta strobe light and make the species difficult for predators to focus on.

About NaturalCultural

I’m an amateur photographer. I do it for fun, to identify animals and insects without having to capture them, I look for the patterns and small images in life and try to capture the spirit they portray. I make it up as I go.

My inspiration comes from within. My images may not be award winning however I can assure you I had fun getting it.
